Saturday was the date for the second annual Fauquier SuperSession, but it almost didn't happen. After being in the planning stages for three weeks, Bernie took it upon himself to move the session Burton to be closer to Andrew Watson's BBQ (and the substances associated with said barbecue), against the wishes for Stefan and Joern (the two people who were the driving forces behind the SuperSession and who came all the way from Calgary specifically for the session). After much last minute wrangling, it was agreed that the first part of the session would be played in Burton after which the gang would move to Fauquier after dark and finish the session, creating the first-ever session played at two different venues. The massive arguments, controversy and miscommunication ensured that Robert and I got there late; not that it mattered as a high-scoring, goaltender-crushing session emerged. The first two games were played in Burton and went by quite quickly. Kim made history by becoming the first female to skate in Burton hockey; she registered an assist in the second game. Both she and Pat (shutout in those two games) would not join the crew in Fauquier. Indeed, with the walkout led by Bernie, it looked for about 25 minutes like only six players would be playing in Fauquier, which they didn't mind as it would lead to excellent stat padding. Joern donned the pads and everyone was about to start when Bernie, Chris and Justin decided to head to Fauquier. Chris went back in net two games later. Stefan and Joern showed that even after their long absences they had not lost a step. Scott joined us for the second Fauquier game.

As usual, Robert was the story. Even while complaining about how badly he was doing, he wound up posting 20-15-35-52 for the third-highest scoring session of all-time, chipping in on all but two of his team's goals. Oliver showed why he is Burton's best D-man with 7G, 13A, 20P. K.J. had fifteen goals but only four assists to finish third. The Kloppster was right behind with 9-9-18, picking it up at the end under the Fauquier lights. Special attention must also be given to Joern, who only had one goal but racked up eleven assists. The Burton series was tied 1-1 between Rob, Pat, Oliver, Chris and Bernie and Stefan, Joern, Kim, Nathan and Justin. The first Fauquier series (featuring Joern's dismal .611 in net) was also split 1-1 between Robert, Justin, Scott, Bernie and Nathan and Stefan, Oliver, Joern and K.J. The final series was won 3-1 by Oliver, Stefan, Robert, Bernie and Chris over K.J., Nathan, Justin and Scott. In the end, it all worked out and a good time was had, although we could have easily played longer were it not for the people wanting to BBQ.

Useless Stats: Despite another off-session, Justin closes the gap between himself and Lorne for the scoring title to 23 points with Robert only three points behind Justin, passing Seamus for third in the process. Oliver crosses the 40-goal and 100-point marks. Justin gets his 100th goal and is only nine behind Lorne in that category. Robert needs four goals for 100. K.J. passes his brother for fourth in goals while Oliver jumps into sixth. Oliver passes Seamus for second in assists and is only three behind Lorne. Seamus, Robert and Justin are all close behind. Justin is within twenty shots of Lorne while Robert passes 300 shots and K.J. passes 200. Robert jumps into fourth in shooting percentage. Nathan plummets from .816 to .803 after failing to break .700 for the first time ever. Chris hits the 400-save mark. Bernie passes Laird for ninth in scoring while Scott moves from 23rd to 17th. Nathan remains the leader in games played with 88, three ahead of Bernie. Justin and Oliver pass Lorne for fourth and fifth in that category. Chris passes Laird for second in games goaltended. Joern debuts in second for assists-per-game while Robert moves up to third. Nathan falls from third to fifth in saves-per-game. Robert becomes the only player to record two 35-point sessions in the same year, his 35 points is tied for second-most this year. His 20 goals are the second-highest total this year. Robert's 15 assists are the third-most this year while Oliver's 13 assists rank fifth. Robert also ties Lorne for the lead in three-star points with 85, while Ollie moves into a tie with Kyle Grenier for seventh with 20. On the all-time front, Stefan closes to within eight points of Joern for seventh in scoring. Robert leapfrogs both Seamus and Joe to move into ninth all-time, passing the 300-point mark in the process (it took him 84 games to reach 300). He is thirteen points behind Stefan. Oliver becomes the second player to ever reach 300 goals. Robert needs one more goal for 200 and six to tie Bernie for sixth all-time in goals. Joern passes Justin for fifth all-time in assists and needs nine for 200. K.J. passes Ryan Adshead for 13th all-time in points. Stefan needs eight more shots to reach 1000 and is only three shots behind Lee for fourth all-time. Robert moves ahead of Simon and Seamus into tenth in shots and needs 19 for 700. He passes Joe for third all-time in shooting percentage. Nathan's off-night costs him big as he plummets from .819 to .811 all-time and falls to second in save percentage behind Seamus. On the bright side, he only needs nine more saves for 1500. Nathan needs just six games to reach 100 games goaltended. Oliver passes Justin for second in three-star points with 215, while K.J. passes Simon for 14th. Robert's 35 points is tied for third-best all-time; he has three of the top five sessions. His 20 goals is tied for fifth all-time. Robert registers his twelfth 10-goal session, putting him second all-time in that category. Even more amazing is that these sessions are all consecutive (in other words, every single session he's ever played he's scored at least ten goals). Rob also ties Lorne's record for consecutive 15-goal sessions with four and is only the second person (besides Joe) to record two 20+ goal sessions. K.J. is eighth with five 10-goal sessions all-time. Oliver records his amazing 18th session with ten-or-more assists. Robert is third on that list with six. This was Robert's fourth straight 15-point session, his fourth straight 20-point session, tying a record shared by himself and Lorne, and his fourth straight 25-point session, tying a record he already held. Oliver and Robert each recorded their tenth 20-point session, tied for second all-time. Robert ties Lorne for most 25-point sessions with eight. He and Lorne are the only people to record three 30-point sessions. This was Bernie's 29th consecutive session (five off of his brother Oliver's record), Nathan's seventh and Oliver's fifth.

Burton Cup: K.J.'s 19 points helps Republic of Ireland narrow the between themselves and first-place Lords to just 19 points. Robert's 35 points moves North Kootenay Falcons to just four points behind Government Hill for fourth. Southern Zone moves from eighth to seventh while Aardorian-Calgary jumps up to tenth from last. Lorne still leads the individual classification over Justin and Robert although the gap is shrinking; Oliver passes Seamus for fourth and Stefan jumps into ninth. Robert all but wraps up the Fauquier classification with 87 points, 28 ahead of Lorne and 53 ahead of Oliver. Scott moves into third in the youth/rookie classification, which is still led by Dallas.
