Seamus writes up his account of another high-scoring, goaltender-crushing session. Rock on, Titties!

In series one Chris started hot but it wasn't enough for Graeme, Justin, Seamus and Kyle (who sat out the first half of the game due to a bearing malfunction) to stop Oli, K.J., Laird and Dallas with Brodie returning as the opposing goalie. Team Oli took both of the first games in O.T. 5-4. In series two Justin, Oli and K.J. took a 5-3 lead with teammate Laird getting the hat trick, but the dream would only last so long as Kyle, Dallas and Seamus began to gel on offense and backed by huge defensive manoeuvres by Graeme they would close out the series with 5-3 and 5-2 wins respectively. With the wins Brodie stretched his consecutive series victories streak to 4 going 8-2 in that time frame. Kyle, Graeme, Oli, and Justin with Brodie in net would attempt to extend that streak next but would be facing a high powered offense in Dallas, K.J., Seamus and Laird. Brodie would face 53 shots in three games here and it would prove to be too much in game one falling by a score of 5-3. In game two Kyle broke out and would have 5 of his 12 points in this series in a 5-3 response to game one. Game three was yet another epic series closer as Chris made stop after huge stop down the stretch and led his team to a series victory with a 5-4 overtime win.

Useless Stats: Dallas and Kyle continue their tandem of destruction with 13-15-28-59 and 13-12-25-37, respectively. Seamus also breaks 20 points with K.J. and Justin right behind him. Yes, your eyes do not deceive you: K.J. had more assists than goals. Everyones stats were pretty evenhanded today, which is a great sign of teamwork. Brodie outdueled Chris for the second straight session, although Chris was greatly improved while Brodie fell off. The season scoring race is already a giant battle-for second. After five sessions, one of which he didnt even play, Dallas, at 111 points, has a 42-point lead over second-place K.J.. K.J., Kyle and Seamus lie at 70-69-67 as an ailing Lee falls to fifth. Dallas has a 21-goal lead on K.J. with Kyle and Seamus tied for third and Justin moving into third. Dallas also has a 12-assist lead over Oliver with Lee, Kyle, Seamus and K.J. right behind. Kyle passes Seamus for third in shots and Dallas for fourth in shooting percentage. Brodie falls below .800 on the year but remains a healthy second in goaltending. Kyle passes K.J. for third in GPG, but K.J. passes him for second in shots-per-game. Dallass 28 points is the second-highest scoring session this year (he has four of the top five); Kyles 25 is fourth. Dallas and Kyles 13 goals each tie for fifth-highest goal total in a session this year. Dallass 15 assists are second highest while Seamuss 13 are fifth. Dallass 59 shots are third-highest this year; he has the top four session shooting totals of 2005 thus far. Brodies 97 saves is the third-highest total this year while Chriss 96 are fifth. Kyle moves into second in three-star points. On the all-time front, Seamus passes the 450 point mark and K.J. becomes the 12th player to reach 300 points. Dallas passes Graeme for 14th all-time. Kyle breaks 100 points and is 19th all-time. Justin becomes the third player to reach 300 goals. K.J. passes Rob for eighth in all-time goals, passes 200 goals and needs four to pass Bernie for seventh and ten to pass Joe for sixth. Oliver becomes the first player in Burton history to hit 500 assists. Justin passes Lee for fourth in assists. Laird is now seven behind Lee for fifth in assists while Seamus is just three behind Laird. K.J. needs two for 100 while Graeme needs seven. Seamus passes Bernie for sixth in shots and needs 22 to pass Stefan for fifth. K.J. passes Joern for ninth in shots. Graeme becomes the 14th player to reach 400 shots with Dallas right behind him. K.J. is sixth in shooting percentage while Dallas is eighth. Kyle shoots up to 18th in assists. Dallas needs three goals for 100. Kyle vaults from 24th to 19th in goals. Todays high-scoring session means Brodie falls from second to seventh in all-time goaltending. Oliver becomes the first player to reach 500 games played. Justin needs five for 300. Chris needs just game to tie Simon for tenth in all-time games. Dallas moves back ahead of Rob and Dustin Marchischuk in APG. Kyle falls behind Joe to sixth in shots-per-game. Justin is second in all-time 10-goal sessions with 16. Dallas has six, all of them consecutive. Dallas now has six consecutive 15-pointers while Kyle has four and K.J. has three. Dallas sets a new record with five consecutive 20-pointers. Kyle has three straight. Dallas ties Lee for third in 25-pointers all-time with four. Dallas now has back-to-back 25-pointers while Kyle posts his first. Olivers consecutive session streak goes to 15 while Chriss goes to nine. Chris ties Nathan for second in all-time 80-save sessions with 12; he has a streak of nine going. Brodie has a streak of three straight 80-savers and three-straight 90-savers. Dallas is now ninth in all-time three-start points while Kyle is 15th. Dallas is way ahead in the SDF rankings, his sixth session on top. Only change of not comes from Justin passing K.J. for fifth. Lots of people fall off this week including Stefan, Rob, and Joern as the July Fauquier supersession drops off the rankings. Big changes, though, on the GDF, as Chris is finally unseated as Burtons dominant goaltender by Brodie. Nathan plummets to sixth, his lowest ranking in almost two years.

Burton Cup: Not too many changes this session other than Republic of Ireland passing Ukrainian Team Bourque for second as the Falcons continue to pull away thanks to the heroics of Dallas and Kyle. Dallas dominates the individual classification as Justin moves to third and Seamus moves to sixth.
