Big session today. 10 players out. We played for a good four and a half hours, for a good 10 sessions. Definitely a badass day today. We added the 102nd player, but it wasn't Jesse, but rather another former Jagrbomb, Rob Hajdu. We started the session with Bron vs Joern in goal, however at the end of the second session Scott had the front of his chassis snap off leaving him unable to play out. So Joern came out of net to play forward for the first time of the year, and Scott went into net. Joern actually didn't want to come out, but alas was forced to. Thus Scott and Lorne were both not forced to play net, leaving them to do some domination as forwards. Lorne had a big day putting up some big points. Most opposing players had a hard time moving him from in front of the net, which became his new home. Scott won his first game in net, then got a little shaky for a good couple games, but started to come into his own at the end of the session. The last game of the day dragged for a good long time, as both sides were absolutely destroyed, and Bron and Scott began to turn things up. Another great day of hockey out here in Vancouver, with another player added to our roster. If things continue we may have to find a bigger rink!

In a session that was easily the longest in terms of games played in VRH history (the previous record being eight), and was relatively low-scoring despite its length, two skaters stood head-and-shoulders above the rest. Lorne led the way in with 17G-10A-27P-68S. Stefan was right behind him with 16G-8A-24P-75S. The only other player to average even two points-per-game was the debuting Rob, netting twelve goals on just 42 shots on his way to 16 points. The real story, as is often the case, was the outstanding goaltending of Bron. Showing once again why he is Burton’s current top goaltender, he stopped a season-high 126 shots and recorded his second shutout of the year on his way to the year’s best session of .851. Scott faced a lot of rubber for a rookie goaltender but held his own at .766. Joern was a bit below standard at .750 in an abbreviated stay in goal.
Here are the game results:
Stefan Oliver Lorne Bron def. Scott Bernie Ryan Jordan Joern 5-1 5-2
Rob Lorne Bernie Joern Bron def. Stefan Ryan Jordan Oliver 2-5 5-2 5-2
Lorne Rob Oliver Ryan Bron def. Stefan Jordan Joern Bernie Scott 5-2 5-2
Rob Stefan Joern Bernie Bron def. Jordan Ryan Oliver Lorne Scott 5-0 2-5 5-1

Definitely Lee. I think everyone has some form of gloves on. Almost everyone wears shin pads. Our goalies are fully done up from head to toe. We are getting old you know, need to make sure we can make it into work the next day! haha

One thing that stands out is how much gear VRH has going. In BUSH at the moment your doing good if your wearing a t-shirt.

Thanks Kyle! It helps having a really good long telephoto lens. Jordan also took some of the shots, when I was out. Unfortunately I ran out of space on my memory card. Next time we play I will try to get some more shots.

Stefan, these photos may be some of the best shots even taken in a session. Lorne looks very dramatic, and Joern's puss almost made me spit my drink! All of these are quality shots. Kudos!
