With the addition of Nakusp expatriate Jordan Barlow (from many a year ago) and the surprise showing of the Hajdu brothers, we probably surpassed (or equalled) the record for biggest turnout this year with 11 people. Instead of dying down throughout the summer as may have been predicted, VRH is instead actually gaining new members and picking up steam.

Although having two subs on one team diluted playing time somewhat, it also resulted in some of the most energetic and intense games we've had all year. Aside from a few games, play though out the day was fairly even and hard fought. The weather co-operated perfectly all day allowing us to play for approximately 4 hours and get a solid 9 games. Teams and game scores can be found in the Game Analysis section.

Thanks, Bernie. A close-fought session with this many players typically produces close stats and low PPGs, and this was no exception, as today’s top four were all within four points of each other. Andrew took the day by a point, notching 14G and 9A on 54 shots (as usual, far more shots than anyone else). Lorne was just one point behind in second, with 8G-14A. Oliver has an evenly balanced day in third with 10G-11A, and Jordan just missed the 20-point barrier in his first session, scoring 10G-9A. In goal, Bron led the day with .777 to Joern’s .728, although Joern had six more saves (107-101). The highlight of the day in goal was Bron’s shutout in game 5; mind you, it was a five-shot shutout in a slightly sub-par day in net.

Here are the game scores:
Jordan Melvin Oliver Rob Bron def. Lorne Tony Andrew Sam Bernie Joern 5-4 5-3 4-5 5-2
Lorne Andrew Tony Sam Bron def. Melvin Jordan Rob Oliver Bernie Joern 5-0 5-2

As this is taking place on a very busy weekend of Burton Hockey, the usual season and all-time analysis will found in the boxscore for the BUSH SuperSession tomorrow, as well as an update to the Records and Honours page. Of course, this week's SDF and GDF won't be finalised until the completion of that session, anyway. It should be amazing (let's hope)!
