Such a day there could not have been that would have been more perfect for hockey. The sun was blazing with not a single cloud in the sky, crisp spring air kept the temps mild but moderate. The birds were out singing in all their glory.

A couple of randomized games were played before Dom and Stu arrived, and we'd have our first and only series of the day. Rob, Bernie, Stef & Stu with Bron in net and Andy & Ollie with Sam96 manning the pipes. The first game was a real grind fest, with high intensity play all around. This led to an extremely even game both in play, shot totals, and on the score sheet. In the end though, Team Bron would take it in sudden death overtime. Stu would make an immediate impact in this game, matching Stef and Andy's game high 4 points.

As has become the story in VRH all too often lately, redemption was in the air for the next game. Backed by some very solid goaltending by Lammer, Team Sam would cruise to a 5-2 victory with Ryno leading the way with a 4 point game.

The rubber match and series deciding game, was another close hard fought battle. Rob's seemingly limitless energy (at least before he got accidentally shafted in the nether regions by Sam) was perhaps in the difference in this game, providing both a hat trick and strong defensive play. Team Bron would take it 5-3.

Big props to Stef and Rob for still coming out to this session (thereby making it happen) despite moving this weekend.

VRH on such a glorious day as this certainly has not yet happened this year. Let's hope this wonderful spring weather continues and many more VRH sessions with it!

Thanks, Bernie. It was a tightly-fought battle on the scoresheet today with the top five scorers all coming within two points of one another. Powered by 11A, Andy takes first star at 15P, just one ahead of the even-handed Oliver (7G-7A). In a three-way tie for third place were Ryan (6G-7A), Stefan (9G, 4A; a continued return to form for the Kloppster in his fourth session back from a vicious leg break), and Rob in his 2012 debut (5G-8A). In goal, Bron had an excellent session; helped by 37 saves in Game 2, the Razor finished at .824 on 89 saves. Sam finished at .770 on 57 saves.
