Glorious sunshine scale: 9/10 (most glorious sunshine of the year; minus 1 point for the sun not being high enough to cover the whole court, creating a slippery algae section near the far wall)
Temperature scale: 9/10 (almost perfect; just slightly too warm for some)
Perfect number of players scale: 7/10 (one more sub would have rounded things out nicely)
New players scale: 5/10 (not exactly a new player but Bron’s first game playing out!)
Return of long absent regulars scale: 8/10 (the return of both Bron and Eric who hadn’t played since August)
Evenness of teams/series scale: 5/10 (some very close games and a few blowouts)
Session intensity scale: 7/10
Session openness / offensiveness scale: 5/10
Redemptions achieved scale: 3/10 (teams were switched too often to allow for much redemption)
Exceptional goaltending performance scale: 8/10 (both Dom and Stu were their usually exceptional selves with Dom being a little more consistent overall but Stu having perhaps more highlight-reel saves)
Domination by one player scale: 5/10 (both Andy and J-Bo stood out today)
Length of session scale: 6/10 (played one last game despite a couple people wanting to quit)
Fun of session scale: 8/10 (a great sunny long weekend hockey sesh at Ambleside) Chance of future sessions in coming weeks scale: 6/10 (numbers are solid these days but weather is always a crapshoot)

Thanks, Bern (and thanks to Ollie for the statistics, and to Stefan Klopp for the photos)! It was a day of fantastic goaltending at Ambleside, and Dominik Voser led the way with perhaps the best goaltending performance of the past two seasons. With .893 (the second-best mark of his illustrious career) and 109 saves, Dom becomes the first goalies to post a PPS higher than 1000 (1002, to be precise) since Andy Kieran all the way back in October 2011. 42 of those saves came in Game 4 alone. Stuart was also fantastic, making 111 saves, including two games with 38 and 37 saves… Scoring-wise, Andrew became the first player to lead multiple sessions in scoring this year, posting 9G-7A to defeat the surging Oliver (10G-4A) by two points. Rob’s 9A helped him edge into third at 12P, just one ahead of Eric and Jordan (who missed the final game and could have easily been second or third otherwise)… Three players (Rob, 61; Andy, 57; Eric, 51) became the first players to smash through the 50-shot barrier this season.

Game Scores:
Rob Jordan Eric Dom def. Bernie Andrew Oliver Stu 5-2
Rob Oliver Andrew Dom def. Eric Bernie Jordan Bron Stu 5-3
Andrew Bernie Rob Oliver def. Jordan Eric Bron Stu 5-3
Jordan Andrew Bernie Bron Dom def. Eric Rob Oliver Stu 5-2
Bron Eric Oliver Dom def. Andrew Rob Bernie Stu 5-3

Season Stats: Oliver’s game has certainly picked up momentum in the past two weeks, and now he has tied Rob for the season scoring lead at 51 points. Andrew passes the absent Ryno to move to third at 40, while Barlow sits fifth at 33. These five players are pulling away from the rest of the pack… Smart takes over the goal scoring lead with 20, one ahead of new second-place man Ollie. Rob is close behind at 18 followed by Jordan (16) and Ryan (14)… Rob and Oliver are sailing away in assists at 33 apiece…The absent Ryno falls from first to fourth in shots, with Rob (151) well ahead of Ollie (112) and Andrew (105)… Jordan knocks Andrew out of the top five in shooting percentage… Dom’s overall save percentage climbs to .858, well ahead of second-place Sam… Oliver leads Rob in games played, 20-19… Andrew leads Sam in three-star points, 30-20… Dom leads Stu in goalie star points, 35-20, and leads Stu, Sam, and Andrew in total star points, 35-30-30-30… Rob takes the assist lead from Andrew at 1.67… Eric debuts second in shots per game at 10.20 while Andrew moves to fourth at 8.75… Andrew’s 16 points today tie for fourth-best on the year… Oliver’s 10 goals rank third-best in sessions this year, while Andrew’s nine tie for fourth…Rob’s nine assists tie for fifth… As mentioned above, Rob, Andrew, and Eric notched the top three shot totals of the year so far today… Dom’s .893 is easily the best session of 2013, while Stu’s .816 ranks fifth… With 11 and 109 saves, respectively, Stu and Dom have the top two save totals of 2013… Dom’s 1002 PPS is top on the year while Stu’s 927 ranks fifth.

SDF/GDF: The last vestiges of the Arena League have disappeared from the charts, returning the SDF and GDF to an all-VRH line-up save for the single BUSH appearances of Seamus and James last week… Andrew takes a decent chunk out of Sam’s lead, but Sam’s still way ahead; his eight career ranking topped… Griff has a bad session fall off and jumps five spots to fourth as a result… Oliver moves up one spot to seventh, while Eric takes a big jump into the top 12… On the GDF, Dom’s huge session puts him right up against Bron, as the Czech leads the Swiss by a mere .0008 for the top ranking on the chart. It’s Bron’s 19th career ranking led, but his position on top is in serious jeopardy.

All-Time Session Milestones & Streaks

Kyle I don't think my head shot needs an upgrade to resemble my current appearance, but rather my current appearance needs an upgrade to resemble my headshot.

I'm like Dan Cloutier out there! I still blame Andy for ruining my shutout... congrats on Bron's first goal though!

Nice Dom! You're getting up to the caliber of a really shitty NHL goalie... and yes, that is a complement.
Kyle wrote on April 03, 2013 @ 05:20:34 PST
Killer goaltending session for sure! Way to go!

Guys, who wants new headshots? Some of them look as though they could use an upgrade.
