This session just goes to prove: there are people who play hockey, and there are people who are hockey players. Bring back Dallas and Kyle from last week, throw in two more experienced players like Travis and Bryce and throw Nathan and Brodie in net. The result? A hockey clinic that made some of our Burton players look like the amateurs they are. The story of the day was Dallas' amazing 35 points in eight games, matching once the unbeatable mark of Dustin Blair; the third highest scoring session of all time. Needless to say, every game Dallas played, Dallas won, figuring in on all but five goals while posting 25 goals, 10 assists and 83 shots. Three other players broke the 15-point mark. In a reverse from last week, Kyle heaped on the assists, going 7-12-19-50. Travis impressed in his debut with 8-10-18-42. Bryce was right behind with 11-5-16-41. No one else was even close to their totals.

The session itself was extremely fast-paced and hard-hitting with most games last less than fifteen minutes apiece. The finesse moves displayed were spectacular. All of the series went 2-0 to whatever team Dallas was on. Bernie, Dallas, Oliver, Travis and Nathan took the first series over Karl, Laird, Kyle, Bryce and Brodie. Dallas, Laird, Kyle, Bernie and Nathan won the second series over Bryce, Oliver, Brodie, Travis and Karl. Nathan then left the net at .833 to be replaced by Laird. Brodie finally won a series, including a shutout in the first game with Dallas, Oliver, Bryce and Bernie as they beat Kyle, Travis, Laird, Karl and Nathan. Dallas, Travis, Bernie, Nathan and Brodie beat Laird, Oliver, Kyle, Bryce and Karl in the last series. Brodie played well at the end and finished with .810 while Laird was quite frustrated at himself after a sub-par .720; he will be looking for redemption next time out.

Useless Stats: Oliver passes Justin for third in season assists and is just one behind K.J. for fifth in shots. Dallas flies all the way to eleventh in scoring and sixth in goals in just 14 games, one point behind Bernie. Kyle shoots up to fourteenth, one behind Jared. Dallas moves up to third in shooting percentage while Bryce debuts in fourth in that category. Laird plummets from .835 to .820 in save percentage for the year but holds second place while Nathan moves up from .815 to .816 in fourth and Brodie debuts in fifth with .810. With Bernie sitting the fourth game this session, Nathan becomes the sole leader in season games played, 80-79; Laird passes his brother Lorne for third. Laird also passes Chris for second in games goaltended. Brodie is the fourth goalie to register a shutout this year. Dallas takes the leads in points-per-game and goals-per-games away from ex-teammate Robert and moves into fifth in assists-per-game (Travis debuts in sixth). Dallas also leads in shots-per-game now; Kyle falls to third. Low shot volume in the first two games caused Nathan to fall behind K.J. into third in saves-per-game. Brodie also debuts fifth in that category. Dallas is now fifth in three-star points; Kyle is in seventh. On the all-time front, there's not much movement at the top. Oliver needs seven goals to reach 300, and Bernie needs 11 to reach Joe for fifth. Bernie becomes the second player to reach 300 assists. Dallas is now fifth all-time in shooting percentage. Laird falls back below .800 all-time. Karl moves into the top 20 in scoring all-time. Dallas enters the top thirty in scoring and ranks second in points-per-game, goals-per-game and shots-per-game. Kyle is now third all-time in shots-per-game. Session-wise, Dallas's 35 points is the second-highest scoring session of the year and ties him for third all-time. His 25 goals is easily the leading session goal total this year and third all-time. Dallas becomes the sixth person in Burton history to record a 20+ goal and/or 30+ point session. Kyle's 12 assists are tied for fifth-best this year. For the first time ever, three people (Dallas, Kyle and Travis) record 10 assists in the same session. By one shot, Dallas beats out Robert for highest session shot total, 83-82. Brodie's 119 saves is fifth-highest this year. Travis's 18 points ties him for fifth all-time among rookies; his 10 assists sets a new rookies record. Bryce's 11 goals is tied for fifth all-time among rookies. Brodie's .810 is third among rookies all-time and his 119 saves is second among rookies all-time. Bernie's consecutive session streak increases to 28 while Nathan's increases to six.

Burton Cup: Not too much to report other than Falcons (Anthor) passing Southern Zone for seventh and the third team of ex-Falcons team debuting in ninth. Will the return of Klopp Magic and the Juergen Hermann spark a SuperSession next weekend? Stay tuned to find out!
