Younger brother of all-time legend Pat, Alex debuted in a mammoth 15-player session at Queen Elizabeth Park and impressed everyone with his impressive play in goal, naming him an early rookie of the year candidate. He then followed it up the next week with a mammoth 167 saves. Over the course of 2010, Alex showed himself to be incredibly reliable and an all-star/rookie-of-the-year lock, not to mention one of the nicest, easiest-going fellows you'll ever meet. Alex has already settled in as one of the premier go-to goaltenders in Burton Hockey history; he already finds himself in the top six in all all-time goaltending categories, and was two away from the all-time shutout lead by the end of the 2010. Alex's battles in goal against top rival Dominik Voser are already the stuff of legend (as was Alex's Game 1 at the 2010 Thanksgiving supersession). 2011 looks to be no different; in his third session of the season, he set a VRH record with 189 saves, and then went onto destroy the goaltending record book in May at the Fuller Cup in Burton as he posted .925 and 280 saves in just FIVE games - hands down, the greatest goaltending performance in Burton Hockey history. Al is the all-time leading goaltender by save percentage in VRH history (no one is close, actually). Awards: Most Outstanding Goaltender - 2010 (VRH), 2011 (VRH, tie); Rookie of the Year - 2010 (VRH); 1st All-Star - 2010g (VRH), 2011g (VRH); Most Dedicated Team - 2010; Burton Championship Weekend Most Valuable Player - 2011; Burton Championship Weekend Most Outstanding Player - 2011; Burton Championship Weekend All-Star - 2010 Autumn, 2011.
