Another creamy, wet explosion of our ready-to-serve statistical joy for you today as the four young guns who shook up the Burton landscape last July returned in full force to show that the flame of the Burton hockey bonfire burns brighter than ever. Leeroy, hit us with your rhythm stick.
Burton hockey reigns supreme again. I didn't think it was going to happen today, what with the snow and rain and all, but Seamus was adamant, and had everything organized. Turned out to be one of the best Burton hockeys I've played in a long time. We had 11 guys and played 4 on 4 with one sub. Chris and Justin were the goalies. It was faced paced and competitive, and the 4 on 4 worked out well. You just had to make the most of your chances.
Series One:
Lee Seamus Graeme Kyle Bryce Chris vs. Dallas KJ Anthony Ollie Justin.
The opening series saw Dallas tear it up with 8 points. Only the
beginning. A fairly quick series, one game barely probably 4 minutes
long, that saw Lee's team lose 5-3, 5-4.
Series Two:
Lee Dallas Bryce Ollie Chris vs. Seamus Graeme Kyle KJ Anthony Justin.
Possibly one of the funnest/best series I've played. Every single game
went to overtime, a very fast paced game and smooth. A best of 5,
Lee's team won 3-1.
Series Three:
Lee KJ Kyle Anthony Chris vs. Dallas Seamus Graeme Ollie Bryce Justin
This series saw the contination of what must surely be a Burton Hockey
record. 8, yes, 8 STRAIGHT overtime games. The final three games went
to overtime, seeing Lees team win 2-1. KJ and Kyle connected to put in
a dominating perfemance that saw KJ score 8 goals and 2 assists and
Kyle 5G-7A. 9 intense games in all. So, here are the monster stats.
Burton Cup: Lee keeps the Bourques just ahead of Ireland, but the Falcons make a huge splash into third thanks to Dallas huge session. Anthor is also in the thick of things in fourth. Justin in net and no Laird means that the Lords fall from second to sixth. Dont forget to check out the records and honours link on the home page. I am absolutely amazed at the prospect of what could happen this year in Burton. Stay tuned, folks, this is going to get good.
