The Ambleside gang is back again this week and the Kloppster is here to tell you all about it. Here he is:

I am going to keep this short because my mom is staying with me and I really don't have a lot of time to do a write up.
So we played today, got in another 7 sessions, another good run, sun was shining, fucking awesome in this city. Anyway both regular goalies couldn't make it out today so we had the battle of the replacements. We also saw Tony Sivilay's first games of the year, both out and in net. With the odd number of people, and the non-standard goalies we had a really tough time getting balanced teams. There were a couple 5-1 or 5-2 games where we were trying to get things to work. Thing to notice, game 6 we played Jason and Stefan take on (?), however due to the no glove and a normal stick it allowed Lorne in goal to play the puck quite well, which basically meant it was a 4-2 when in that end. Thus to counter balance this the 7th game was decided that Lorne had to abide by the new NHL rules and stay roughly in his crease and keep the puck play limited...
Few notes; Andrew had a really excellent session, and I think one game had like 3 or 4 big deke goals. Bernie was also a bit of a force with his new wheels and stick, pretty hard to play against, and a lot harder to get around; he also had several collisions, many of which were into me. Lastly I seriously hit around 15 posts and crossbars, it was sickening.
Anyway another fun session. Hopefully next week we will get our standard goalies back.

Much kudos to Stefan and the gang for getting this one going on such short notice. Jason takes his first first-star performance of the year with 15G-7A. Stefan was right behind with 11G-10A. Andrew and Bernie had breakout sessions with 18 and 15 points respectively. The goaltending with a bit errant with only Lorne playing a whole session. Joern took the goaltending battle with .775 to Lornes .750 and Tonys .712.

Useless Stats: Jason gains one point on Stefan to narrow the season scoring race to 66-64. Bernie moves to third and Andrew moves to fourth as Lorne and Joern spend time in net. Jason closes in goals to Stefan 36-31 while Bernie moves to fifth this year. The assist race is a three-way battle between Jason, Stefan and Bernie. Stefan moves into first season shots as he and Jason pass 100 shots each. Jason moves into the shooting percentage lead at 26.50%. Lorne, Stefan, Bernie and Joern have played all 19 games this season. Jason and Stefan record the third and fourth-highest scoring sessions of the year. Stefans 51 shots ties Lorne for the highest total this year while Jasons 48 are tied for third. Joerns .775 is the third-best goaltending session so far in 2006. Lornes 81 saves tie for the fourth-highest total this year. On the all-time front, Bernie becomes the third player to reach 600 points, passing Justin for third in all-time scoring in the process. Stefan is 48 shots behind Justin for Fourth all-time. Joern passes 1400 saves, the fourth goalie to do so. Bernie is just six games behind brother Oliver for the all-time games played lead, while Joern passes 300 games played and is nine behind Justin for fifth. He also passes Nathan for third in games goaltended. Jason is fourth all-time in points-per-game. Lorne falls to fifth in saves-per-game behind Laird. Stefan records his tenth 10-goal session (and fourth straight) while Jason reaches that mark for the first time at 15 goals. Stef also has back-to-back ten-assist sessions. Stefan now has six consecutive 15-pointers while Jason has three and Andrew records his first. Stefan now has the second-longest streak of 20-pointers at four while Jason goes back-to-back 20s for the first time. Bernie has played in eleven straight sessions while Lorne has played 8 straight and Joern 7. On the SDF, Jason holds fort on top for a second consecutive session as Seamus and Lee are about to fall off. Laird loses one of his bad sessions and temporarily reclaims the top spot on the GDF from Bron. Tomy moves up to fourth and Lorne debuts fifth. Dont forget those Records and Honours, and lets hope for more hockey and sunny weather for VRH next weekend.
