Burton United Socialist Hockey played its second session of the year and put up some massive statistics, especially in the shot column. Throw in the third generation of Dettas to play Burton hockey, and, well, Ill let Lee Orr tell you about it

The BUSH league finally got it together and played some hockey. Some interesting stats to come out of this one. Of special note - Nathan made 89 saves on Seamus. Possibly the most ever by a goalie on a single player.
Series 1: Lee Oliver Nathan vs. Graeme Seamus Chris
Lee and Olli dominated the first game, winning 5-0 on 5 goals from Lee. Seamus and Graeme took it to them in game 2, surprising them with a 5-3, on 5 goals from Seamus. But Lee and Olli took the series with a 5-3 win.
Series 2: Lee Graeme Nathan vs. Seamus Olli Chris
Nathan really started to shine in goal. Lee and Graeme opened with a 5-3 win, followed by a 5-2 loss in a poor effort, but Nathan shined throughout.
Series 3: Lee Seamus Chris vs. Mitch Graeme Olli Nathan
In what continues to be an ongoing saga, Lee and Seamus could never really get anything going. Losing 5-1 5-4, in convincing fashion. On the other side of the coin, Graeme exploded with 5 goals and 4 assists in 2 games, showing his offensive touch. Mitch joined the fray, fitting in nicely with 2 goals and 3 assists in 2 games. In the end, Olli ruled the day, going 5-2 and dominating defensively at the same time putting up huge offensive numbers, 8 goals and 16 assists.

Thank you muchly, Leeroy! Wow, you can tell that kind of freewheeling offensive session this was just by looking at those ungodly shot totals, which is the brilliance of 2-on-2, I suppose. Oliver and Lee did what they do best. Oliver takes first star honours with 8-16-24 just ahead of Lee with 18-5-23. Olivers 59 shots is certainly an anomaly in a career personified by passing and defense. Graeme was impressive in his season debut taking third star ahead of Seamus and his mind-numbing 102 shots on goals, a number almost never thought of as possible in just seven games. Mitchell averaged 2.5 PPG in his debut session, a fine effort. He joins father Karl and great-uncle Lyle to create three generations of Burton hockey tradition. In goal, it was classic Nathan: high shot volume, high save percentage. .861 and a shutout with 137 shots against is quite impressive. Chris was a bit below par at .744.

Useless Stats: BUSH players make up a bit of ground on VRH this session with Lee just one point behind Andrew for sixth in scoring and Seamus just two points behind Lee. Oliver and Graeme both enter the top ten. Seamus and Lee move into fourth and fifth in goals. Oliver moves into fifth in assists. Seamus rockets into second in shots while Lee ties Bernie for fifth in that category. Lee moves into third in shooting percentage while Seamus plummets out of the top ten. Nathan moves into first in save percentage for the year and second in saves. Chris and Nathan move into second and third in games goaltended. Nathan is the third goalie this year to post a shutout. Lee moves into third in three-star points and Oliver into a tie for fourth. Lee moves into third in points-per-game while Seamus drops to fourth. He does retain the GPG lead, though, with Lee moving into third. Oliver moves into second in APG. Seamus is averaging an astounding 11.57 shots per game. Lee moves into second in SPG and Oliver into fifth. Olivers 24 points is the third-highest session total this year; Lees 23 is fourth. Lees 18 goals is the highest total this year while Seamus 13 are tied for third. Olivers 16 assists tie for the highest total this year. Seamus set the season shot total high last time with 60; this sessions 102 shots obliterate that mark. Lees 64 is second and Olivers 59 is fourth. Nathans .861 is the second-best goaltending session this year. He is also the first goalie in 2006 to make 100 save in a session. Chris 87 save tie for fifth-best this year. On the all-time front, Oliver crosses the 900-point mark and is just 15 points behind Lorne for the all-time lead (this should be an interesting cross-province battle all year). Lee passes 600 points and has moved ahead of Justin for fourth in all-time scoring, just two points behind Bernie. Seamus is 25 points away from 600. Graeme needs six points to become the 14th player to reach 200. Lee passes Justin for third all-time in goals, he is 29 behind Oliver. Seamus passes 300 goals and is 12 goals behind Justin for fourth. Lee also passes Justin for fourth in assists with Seamus just seven behind Justin. Oliver passes the 1,800 shot mark with an abnormally high session shot count for the defensive specialist. Lee passes 1,500 shots. Seamus is 22 shots behind Justin for fifth all-time and 25 to reach 1,300. Nathan closes in on K.J. for second in save percentage, .815-.813. Nathan needs 42 save to reach 2,000 for his career. Oliver extends his all-time games played lead over brother Bernie to ten, 535-525. Graeme passes the 150 games played mark, Nathan needs four games to do the same. Nathan passes Joern for third in games goaltended and ties Joern for second in shutouts. Oliver passes Seamus for fourth in all-time three-star points and is just five behind Justin for third. Olivers 16 assists tie for the fifth highest session total of all-time. And, as you may have guessed, Burton hockeys longest-standing record is no more. Joes six-year old record for most shots in a session was broken by Seamus, just the second time a single person has hit the century mark for shots in a session. Nathans .826 so far this year in net would tie for the fifth-highest single season total. Lee moves into second in all-time ten-goal sessions ahead of Justin with 18. He also ties Joe for third in 15-goal sessions with five. This is Olivers 25th ten-assist session (Lee is the next closest with ten). Seamus ties Justin for fourth in 15-pointers. Oliver ties Seamus for second in 20-pointers with 12; Lee has 11. This was Seamus eight consecutive session. Nathan and Chris each have 15 80-save sessions; this was the 12th consecutive for Chris and fifth straight for Nathan. This is the fourth straight 90-save session for Nathan, the second-longest streak ever. He also has three straight 100-save sessions. Chris 90-save streak ends at two. On the SDF, Jason celebrates five consecutive sessions on top. Lee jumps ahead of Stefan and Seamus into third and Oliver moves into sixth. Lee jumps from twelfth to seventh. On the GDF, Nathans monster session rockets him up to the top of the rankings. Laird falls to third and Chris moves up to fourth. Dont forget those Records and Honours, and lets hope that both BUSH and VRH can get out as often as possible and heat this season up.
