Well I got a bit of energy so I thought I would send you the stats. Lots of new players today. We all met up at Ambleside, and found the rink already taken by a bunch of guys who were half on feet, half on blades. They wanted us to play with them, but we really didn't want to play mixed, plus with our numbers and their numbers we would have spent a lot of time sitting around waiting.

Anyway Ryan took us to a new rink up in North Van called William Griffin. It was a big rink, similar in size to the QE rink. At the rink was our first new player Brian Morrov. So we were able to play 3 on 3 full court, which was perfect. As time went on two younger kids showed up and joined us. One Sam Lam, the other Griff Irrelevante. Then in our last game we were joined by our final player of the day Matt Irrelevante. Hopefully I will get last names for you soon. Anyway the games were fun, but very tiring with the big rink. Anyway I am too tired to drag this out any further so here are the stats for the 4 games that were played. Actually one thing to note, Bron was incredible today. Absolutely amazing.

Thanks, Stefan! Four rookies in one session (and a new rink at that); it’s been a long time since we’ve seen that; you have to go back to the Fauquier SuperSession of 2004. Certainly, this day was owned by three people. Oliver racked up ten assists in just four games enroute to first star at 15 points. Brian debuted quite nicely with nine goals and fourteen points (including five goals on seven shots in the first game, all assisted by Ollie!); had the session seen a couple more games, he would have been high up in all-time debut performances. You have to go back to eight points and Ryan and Stefan to reach the third stars. Also of note was Griff’s 13 shots in two games in his debut. The third player who owned this session was Bron, turning in the season’s leading performance by far at .856. Lorne took a couple of games to shake off the goaltending rust and wound up at .729, but he improved his stats with every game.
Here are the game results:
Brian, Oliver, Bernie, Bron def. Stefan, Ryan, Joern, Lorne 5-3, 5-3
Brian, Bernie, Oliver, Sam, Bron def. Stefan, Ryan, Joern, Griff, Lorne 5-2
Stefan, Joern, Ryan, Griff, Lorne def. Brian, Oliver, Bernie, Sam, Matt, Bron 5-4

Season Stats: Stefan passes 50 points on the season and now has a 12-point lead on Lorne and Ryan, who are just one point ahead of Bernie as Ryan moves into a second-place tie. Oliver moves up to fifth in points. Brian debuts eighth. It took Stefan two sessions without Lorne skating to move into the goal scoring lead. Ryan moves back ahead of Bernie into third in goals. Oliver passes Albert for fifth in goals, and Lorne for fifth in assists. Stefan and Bernie are now tied for the assist lead at 21 apiece, one ahead of Ryan. Ryan passes Lorne for second in shots taken. Oliver moves into fourth in shooting percentage. Bron passes Laird for the lead in saves. Stefan passes Lorne for the lead in three-star points; Oliver moves to third. Brian moves into the PPG lead; Lorne, Oliver, and Lee all share second. Oliver has a big lead in APG, and Joern moves to second ahead of Ryan. Ryan passes Stefan for second in shots-per-game. Oliver’s 15-pointer ranks fifth-best for sessions this year. Brian’s 9 goals rank fifth as well. Oliver’s 10 assists are second-highest this year. Bron easily had the best session of any goalie this season so far.

On the all-time front: Oliver needs just four points to become the first player to reach 1,200. He is five goals behind Seamus for third all-time. Stefan is nine goals behind Justin for fifth. Stefan is also eight shots behind Seamus for fourth all-time. Bron moves into sixth in all-time save percentage and is behind Brodie by less than a percent. Joern becomes the seventh player to play 400 games and is thirteen behind Seamus for sixth. Stefan passes Justin for fifth in three-star points. Bernie plays in his 18th consecutive session, Stefan his 13th, Joern his eighth, and Oliver his sixth. Oliver’s switch to VRH, temporary or not, makes him the third player after Stefan and Bernie to play in all nine BUSH seasons and all four VRH seasons. His excellent session today also makes hime VRH's all-time leader in PPG and APG.

SDF/GDF: Seamus holds for what will be his last session on top of the ranking unless BUSH plays soon, and that unfortunately isn’t likely. In fact, many BUSH players will fall off the ranking session due to inactivity. Oliver goes over a 100 rating, and it will be between him and Lorne for top spot next time, it appears. K.J. remains untouchable on the GDF, but Bron has almost caught Seamus for second.

That was too long to wait for hockey. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer. Until then, satisfy your craving for stats by checking out the Records and Honours page, and browse through the boxscores with over 300 photos from past sessions.
