Monday's session almost didn't get off the ground as Bernie and Graeme planned to go to Fernie. When didn't happen, Bernie was stuck without the van and Graeme decided that he was too sore to do anything, and so hockey had to wait an hour until Noel and Seamus saved the day. Only nine players (it feels weird to say that, but that's the kind of season it's been) came, but eight, nine and ten are the perfect Burton hockey numbers. With Graeme out (especially discouraging since he had such a great session last time), Nathan, Justin and Lorne continue to be the only players left that have played every game. But this time was different as Nathan came out of the net for the first time ever, and Noel made his goaltending debut. He was shaky at first but held steady and certainly wasn't the worst we've seen, he flirted with .700 all day. Laird put up the best goaltending performance of the season so far with .868 in the seven-game session and two shutouts. The first series saw Laird back Seamus, Colby and Justin to a 2-1 win over Noel, Oliver, Bernie, Seamus and Nate. Laird was shaky in the second game, he was only .722 but never looked back after that, posting a shutout in the first series. Colby, Laird, Lorne and Justin was up 1-0 and four-zip in the final game of the second series but Seamus, Oliver, Bernie, Nathan and Noel valiantly held off the final goal for fifteen minutes before Lorne finally sunk the biscuit to win the series and get Laird another shutout. The final series saw Oliver, Lorne, Laird and Nathan win 2-0. Lorne led the day with 19 goals and five assists, his 19 goals coming on just 45 shots. Justin finished second with 13 goals and five assists, and Seamus had an excellent Oates ratio of 5 goals and 11 assists. Thursday the 20th is the next scheduled session with one tentatively planned for Saturday afternoon in Fauquier during Burton May Days possibly featuring the return of Stefan Klopp.

Useless Stats: Lorne become the first Burton player to hit 50 goals and 100 points this year, and now has a 110-83 lead on Justin. He is the first player to have three 100-point seasons, and his high scoring session puts him second in shooting percentage for 2004. Justin becomes the fourth player to have ten ten-goal sessions, as well as his twelfth straight session; he also hits the 50-goal plateau. Bernie now has a streak of 23 sessions dating back to the second session of last year, the fourth-longest streak ever. Seamus vaults into second for the year in assists over Justin and Nathan and takes over the lead for assists-per-game with 1.26. Laird moves up to .839 for the season in net, he is second in shutouts with two to Nathan's three. Noel's 78 saves were fifth highest for a rookie goaltender. On the all-time front, Lorne becomes the first Burton player to cross 700 points. Justin passes Laird and Joern to become Burton's all-time leading scorer with 348 points (incidentally, Laird is now tied with Joern for sixth with 332). Justin is only five assists behind Laird and two behind Joern for the same positions in that category. He is only 22 behind Bernie for fifth in all-time shots. Seamus passes Simon to move into the top ten all-time in scoring and becomes the eleventh player to hit 500 shots; he is ninth all-time in assists. Bernie becomes the first person to play 400 games. Laird passes Joern and now leads in all-time shutouts with eight. Colby hits duble-digits for the first time in a session and moves all the way from 35th to 28th in all-time scoring right behind Nathan, who scored his first Burton goal this session.
