This session would see our 2 regular goalies back in action on an unseasonably warm sunny day in October. A variety of 3-on-3 games were played (you can find full teams and scores in the game analysis section) until Marcus and Tony had to leave. Though we were all pretty exhausted at this point, knowing that Dom was so close to breaking the all-time goalie games played record we decided to get a couple more games in. Like last week we played 3-on-2, and just like last week the two-man team with J-Bo on it won once again.

Thanks, Bern! Jordan and Stefan were already leading the day in scoring before the final 3-on-2 series, where they both pointed out each game and wound up taking the day quite handily. For Barlow, his major of run of late continued as he posted a career-best session by a mile with 16G-15A; his first ever 30-pointer. He edge Stef by three points, all assists. Oliver only had five goals but did throw up 16 assists for third. Had they played the full session, Tony and Marcus likely would have figured into this as well. It was another big day in net for Dom, as he made 136 saves and posted a well-earned .840. Dom also became the most experienced goaltender in Burton Hockey history by backstopping his 283rd game, unseating Laird. Dom is now just 166 saves away from taking over the all-time save lead, a monumental achievement for someone only in his 16th month of competition (Laird started 10 ½ years ago). Definitely worthy of a ceremony when the time comes. Alex’s hot run of late ends with.745 despite 117 saves.

Here are the game scores:
Oliver Jordan Tony Dom def. Marcus Bernie Eric Stefan Alex 5-3 5-1
Stefan Oliver Marcus Dom def. Jordan Tony Eric Bernie Alex 5-2 5-2
Stefan Bernie Oliver Jordan Alex def. Tony Marcus Eric Dom 5-4 5-1
Stefan Jordan Tony Dom def. Eric Oliver Bernie Alex 5-4
Jordan Stefan Dom def. Oliver Eric Bernie Alex 5-3 5-1

Season Stats: Oliver has almost caught back up to Pat in third, 466-454, with Stefan at 433 points. Jordan is the eighth player to score 300 points this season; Bernie passes Sam for ninth. Tony needs seven points for 200; Marcus 25. Tony is four goals away from 100. Oliver is just one assist behind Kyle for second. Stefan passes 200; Marcus needs two for 100 and Tony three. Jordan passes Joe Leonard for third in shooting percentage. Alex falls out of the top five in save percentage, bringing Nathan back in. Dom passes an astounding 3,000 saves on the season. Dom passes Kyle for fourth in games played. Alex is five goalie star points behind Seamus for second. Dom passes Pat for fourth in total star points.

On the All-Time Front: Jordan becomes the 16th player to score 400 points; Marcus enters the top 30 for the first time. Bernie is two goals behind Justin for eighth. Stefan becomes the fifth player to score 700 assists. Marcus needs two assists for 100. Dom becomes the all-time VRH save leader and sits third overall at 3,946 behind Laird (4,112) and Nathan (4,055). Alex is 89 saves behind Lyle for tenth. Dom needs nine games played for 300, and does indeed become the all-time games goaltended leader in Burton with 283. Dom is ten goalie star points behind Laird for fifth all-time. Jordan moves back into fifth in all-time shooting percentage. Oliver ties Lorne for second in 15-pointers with 58 (Lee is first with 91); Stefan trails Seamus for fifth 49-48. Oliver has five in a row; Stefan and Eric four. Stefan has three straight 20-pointers; Oliver and Jordan two. Jordan posts his first 15-goal session, his first 25-pointer, and his first 30-pointer. Only eighteen players have ever posted a 30-pointer in Burton history, and only six have done it in VRH. Stefan is one ten-assister behind Seamus for third with 23. Dom records his 15th .810 session, and ties Larid for most 80-savers with 26 including nine in a row (Alex has 18 including six in a row). Alex moves to fourth in90-savers with 18 including six in a row. Dom ties Nathan for the all-time lead in 100-savers with 18; Alex has 14 and is one away from tying Seamus’s consecutive 100-save streak with six. Dom takes the all-time 110-save lead from Bron with 14; Alex is two behind and ties Seamus’ consecutive 110-save record with six. Bernie plays his 32nd straight session; Oliver his 14th; Stefan his seventh; Eric and Dom their sixth. Dom becomes the first goalie in history to make 3,000 saves in one season. Bernie, Oliver and Dominik have the third, fourth, and fifth highest games-played totals ever in a single year. Alex’s 195 goalie star points rank third-most in a single year.

SDF/GDF: It’s a 16th straight ranking on top for Pat as the top seven stay put. The big gainer is Jordan, moving up four spots to eighth; Tony and Marcus begin climbing back up as they resume activity. Eric takes a small hit, dropping from ninth to twelfth. Over on the GDF, it’s another record for Seamus with his eleventh-straight ranking led. Alex’s drop today combined with the stellar play of Dom puts Dom ahead of Alex into second; it’s the first time Alex has been behind Dom since March. If there is a BUSH session during the week before the SuperSession, it will be added to this ranking.

Next weekend is the big one, folks! Check back after the Thanksgiving Burton Championship Weekend for huge stats, championship action, and tons of photo and video. Until next time, check out the Records and Honours pages in the Links section.
