Glorious sunshine scale: 5/10 (hazy sun and some clouds)
Temperature scale: 4/10 (warm and muggy, almost no ocean breeze)
Perfect number of players scale: 8.5/10 (1 sub on each team but could almost have used more today)
New players scale: 0/10
Return of long absent regulars scale: 6/10 (Shaylin's return)
Evenness of teams/series scale: 7/10 (very even series but a couple games were lopsided)
Session intensity scale: 9/10 (quite possibly the most intense, grueling session of the year)
Session openness / offensiveness scale: 3/10 (very tight defensively until the final game when everyone was dead tired)
Redemptions achieved scale: 5/10 (Team Dom achieved partial redemption by winning the next game after losing the initial series)
Exceptional goaltending performance scale: 9/10 (while both goalies were spectacular, Stu was beyond unreal today)
Domination by one player scale: 2/10 (very even play out there)
Length of session scale: 6/10 (only 4 games but 3 hours 17min session length; most could barely stand after the last game)
Fun of session scale: 6/10 (perhaps a little less fun with the grinding style today and the heat, but the competitiveness brought its' own fun as well)
Chance of future sessions in coming weeks scale: 6/10 (if the weather keeps co-operating and numbers stay steady, why not?)

Thanks, Bern! Both leagues are getting some hot goaltending right now, and it showed again today with two more big numbers from Dom and Stu. Dom was .881 today with 96 saves, while Stu put in a career-best .855 on 100 saves even. Scoring-wise, Rob returned huge with 5G-9A to take first star. The other two star positions went to people who’ve been uncharacteristically absent over the past month, as Oliver came back with 8G-4A for second, and Stefan returned from Europe to post 4G-6A in third.

Game Scores:
Bernie Shay Darrel Ryan Stu vs. Stefan Rob Ian Oliver Dom 5-3 2-5 5-4 1-5

Length of session: 3h 17min

Season Stats: With no BUSH action today due to Seamus O’Connor’s ailing body, it was a chance for the two VRH scoring leaders, Darrel and Rob, to pull away a bit. Darrel now leads Rob 92-77, while Seamus is two ahead of Oliver, 65-63... Ryan jumps up two spots to seventh at 47, while Bernie is now in sole possession of tenth at 38... Darrel leads Rob in goals, 54-37, with Oliver at 34... Ryan re-enters the top five in goals at 25, while Stefan returns to the top ten... Seamus still has a healthy 50-40 lead in assists over Rob, with Darrel now ahead of Andrew Smart 38-36... Bernie ties Ryan Bateman for sixth in assists at 26 while Ryan Disterheft re-enters the top ten... Rob leads Darrel in shots on goal, 260-240... Oliver passes Seamus for fourth in shots on goal... Oliver moves up to third in shooting percentage at 20.99%... Dom brings his season save percentage to .839, which is still only fifth amongst 2014 goalies.... Stu passes Sam and K.J. to move to second in saves at 326, 221 saves behind Dom... Bernie and Dom still haven’t missed a game this year. They sit at 33 played, three ahead of Darrel who is now followed by Rob (27) and Oliver (25)... Dom leads Stuart in games goaltended, 29-18... Rob ties Darrel for the lead in three-star points with 55 each, while Oliver ties Andrew and Seamus for third at 30... Dom extends his goalie star points lead over K.J. to 65-45, while Stu is tied with Sam at 30... Dom retakes the total star points lead with 65 points, followed by Darrel and Rob at 55, and Seamus and K.J. at 50... Darrel falls behind Bateman to fourth in GPG, 3.13-3.07... Rob knocks brother Tony out of the top five in APG at 1.48... Dom passes K.J. for third in saves per game, while Stuart passes Sam for fifth... Dom’s .881 is the third-best goaltending session this season.

SDF/GDF: Not much movement this week. Ryan Bateman continues to the hold the SDF’s top spot for a second straight ranking. The only movement in the top ten comes from Rob, who moves up three spots to seventh... It’s a rare GDF where no one changes position whatsoever. K.J. stays first ahead of Bron, but Dom does close in on Bron a wee bit. Stu and Sam also see their ratings increase thanks to the addition of good session for Stu and the dropping of a bad session for Sam.
