Thanks, Bern! It's ben weeks in the making, but we finally have Burton Hockey in action again, even if it's just for the weekend (although who knows what will happen come August when the VRH crew goes camping on the Arrow Lakes and your humble statistician is in Vancouver for two weeks). In the meantime, today was another goaltending battle between Stu and Bron, and this time Stuart came out on top with a career-best .871. Bron had to deal with more volume, outsaving Stu 116-88, but finishing behind him with .853, which is still pretty freaking great, and is way more than good enough to ensure that Bron sets a new record for most consecutive .800-plus sessions with 13 (a record previously shared by Alex Elischer and Dom). It's been more than 4 1/2 years since Bron's been below .800. Scoring-wise, it was Andrew's day today, as he notched 7G-8A in the four matches. Dom looked poised to snatch second star with 9P heading into the final game, but was edged out by Rob (7G-4A) and brother Darrel (6G-5A). Still, Dom did lead the session in assists with 9A.

Game Scores:

Dom Darrel Ryan Oliver* Rob Stu def. Andy Stefan Nick Ian Bernie Brom 5-4 5-4 (*no Game 3)

Season Stats: With BUSH in limbo at the moment, Darrel and Rob get the opportunity to pull away a little bit from Seamus O'Connor in the scoring race, as Darrel breaks the 100-point mark at 103 while Rob sits ar 88. Seamus actually gives up third place to Oliver now by a point, 66-65, while Andrew jumps from eighth to fifth at 60 followed by Ryan Disterheft at 55. Rob leads Darrel in shots on goal, 294-277, while Stefan enters the top six... With Neil Spencer no longer eligible at the moment for the shooting percentage race as we get deeper into the season, the lead now passes to Darrel at 21.66%... Darrel, Dom, and Rob are now in a three-way tie for the lead in total star points with 65... Rob passes Andrew Likness for fifth in GPG with 1.42... Dom enters the APG list in third at 1.63... Darrel passes Tony Hajdu and Stefan to go to third in shots-per-game at 8.15... Bron debuts on the saves-per-game list in second at 22.88... Stuart's .871 is the fifth-best goaltending mark set this year, while Bron's 116 saves rank fifth in that category as well.

SDF/GDF: With big points from a high-quality session victory, Andrew Smart has erased nearly all of the gap between himself and SDF Ryan Bateman. Darrel moves up three spots to fourth, while Oliver drops three spots to eighth and Stefan drops six spots to tenth. A big day as well for Dom, who jumps up 13 spots into the top 15... For the second straight ranking, no one changes positions on the GDF. K.J. stays first ahead of Bron for the fourth straight ranking and 24th time overall.
