Thanks, Bern! It was a very close session scoring-wise between Andy and Ollie, but Smart’s massive 18A carried him to 21P on the day, placing him one point ahead of Oliver (11G-9A). The only other player to break 15 points was last week’s leader Darrel at 8G-7A. It was a stellar day in goal for Dom and Sam. Dom finished with a stellar .859 including a season-best 122 saves and a shutout, while Sam was pretty damn solid as well with .824 and 98 saves. And there’s more good news: it looks as though there may be some BUSH action coming up this Sunday with some strong names in the mix. Hopefully the fellows in red and black won’t let us down!

Game Scores:
Andrew Ryan Oliver Bernie Dom def. Darrel Ian Rob Sam 5-1
Andrew Oliver Ryan Sam def. Bernie Ian Darrel Rob Dom 5-3 5-1
Andrew Darrel Bernie Ian Dom def. Ryan Oliver Rob Sam 5-0 2-5 5-4

Darrel Voser 1946 (+7)
Rob Hajdu 1938 (-26)
Oliver Koth-Kappus 1921 (+28)
Ryan Disterheft 1891 (-2)
Ian Bock 1663 (-8)
Bernie Koth-Kappus 1509 (-10)

Season Stats: The scoring race heats up as Darrel (52) leads Oliver (51) by just points, with Andrew passing Rob to move to third at 45... Ryno jumps up to fifth to tie the absent Stefan Klopp at 22... Darrel leads Oliver in goals, 30-26, with Rob at 22 and Ryan at 15... Bernie ties Tony Hajdu for fifth at 12... Rob narrowly maintains his shot lead over Oliver, 137-134... Today was a shooting percentage killer unless your name was Darrel or Oliver... Dom brings has season save percentage to .832, while Sam’s goes up to .820... Sam, Dom, and the Koth-Kappi have played all 21 games, with Darrel having played all but three... Dom joins Stu as goalies with shutouts in 2014... Andrew ties Darrel for the lead in three-star points with 30 each, while Oliver moves up to 20... Dom leads Sam in goalie star points, 45-30... Dom leads Sam in total star points, 45-35, with Andy and Darrel right behind at 30... Andy is now the only player above 3.00 PPG on the season... Darrel passes Rob for second in GPG, while Oliver moves to fifth... Andrew continues his stunning 3.00 APG pace... Ryan enters the top five in shots-per-game... Dom passes Sam for the lead in saves-per-game, 17.67-17.33... Andy’s 21 points rank second-best for session so far this year, while Oliver’s 20 rank third, as do Oliver’s 11 goals... Andy’s 18 assists tie his mark set back in January; they represent the only 15-plus assist sessions since 2010 in Burton Hockey... Oliver’s nine assists rank fourth on the year... Ryan’s 52 shots on goal and Rob and Oliver’s 45 apiece represent the top three shot totals on the year, while Andrew’s 45 rank fifth... Dom’s .859 is the third-best session of the year in net, while Sam’s .824 ranks fifth... Dom’s 122 saves are tops on the year, while Sam’s 98 are third... Dom’s 981 easily tops the 2014 PPS charts, while Sam’s 922 ranks fourth.

SDF/GDF: The outcome of the SDF and GDF all depend on whether or not the planned BUSH session takes place Sunday. If it doesn’t, then that would drop the remaining BUSH players below the session minimum and hand the lead of the SDF back to Andy (and we’ll update this section accordingly). If it does, well, absolutely anything could happen. Most crucially, it will come down to whether or not Seamus plays goal. What we DO know is that Dom will pass Bron to reclaim the top of the GDF unless Justin plays goal Sunday.

It's amazing how many friends I've met because of Burton Hockey over the past 15 season. In hockey parlance, Sam, you're a beauty!

Thank you so much for getting these two sessions in guys.
I can't express enough how much Burton Hockey and VRH has affected my life for the better the past now seven years. I can't believe it's been seven years already... It seems like yesterday Griff and I ran into everyone down at William Griffin. VRH has become a second family, thank you for letting me become apart of it!
Thanks again for everything, this is definitely my biggest regret choosing this transient lifestyle.
Until next time!
